Daniel Cemino brings 12 years of experience across manufacturing, food processing, agricultural and live production environments to breakdown work — projects and callouts delivered within active production facilities, planned to keep operational disruption to a minimum. This page covers what happens once a line is down and needs attention. Diagnosing the underlying cause in detail is its own discipline, covered on Fault Finding; new electrical infrastructure is covered on Industrial Electrical, and PLC, HMI and drive programming on Automation Systems.
Before anything is touched, the equipment and its history are understood — what it does, how it's wired, and how the control system is supposed to behave — so work on a down line is based on how the system actually operates, not guesswork.
Production sites rarely stop entirely. Breakdown work is planned around what can be safely isolated, so the affected equipment can be worked on without putting the rest of the site or its people at risk.
The first job is getting the line back to running. Once it's running again, attention turns to why it failed in the first place, so the same fault is less likely to recur.
Talk through what's happened, what's already known, and what's safe to touch.
Look at the equipment and the wider system to work out what's actually going on.
Address what's stopping the line, working around what can be safely isolated.
Walk through what happened and what's needed to address the underlying cause.
