Case Study 3

Electrical Installation – Cream Cheese Production Line Relocation

Overview

Electrical installation works completed for the relocation and commissioning of a cream cheese production and filling line from South Australia to Tongala Nutrition, including new power infrastructure and integration with existing plant systems.

The Requirement

A complete production line was relocated to site, requiring new electrical infrastructure to support:

  • Extruding, filling, and packaging equipment
  • Control systems and field I/O
  • Adequate power capacity for full operation

The facility did not have the required infrastructure in place, requiring a new electrical supply and distribution system to be installed from the main switchboard.

What Was Completed

  • Installation of a new submain from the main distribution board
  • Provision of a 125A supply to support production equipment
  • Installation of three-phase outlets and connections for plant equipment
  • Installation and connection of field I/O racks for control integration
  • Cable installation, termination, and system integration across the line
  • Coordination with existing plant systems to ensure seamless integration

All works were planned and executed considering:

  • Existing infrastructure limitations
  • Production requirements
  • Safe and staged installation

Outcome

  • Reliable electrical supply supporting full production load
  • Adequate capacity for all installed equipment
  • Successful integration of relocated plant into existing facility
  • System ready for commissioning and operation

Project Delivery

Installation works were carried out around live production and shift coverage, ensuring minimal disruption to ongoing site operations.

Key Capabilities Demonstrated

  • Industrial electrical installation
  • Submain design and installation
  • Three-phase power distribution
  • Integration of relocated plant equipment
  • Working within live production environments
